A Tunex South Ogden Tune-Up

South Ogden Auto Hook Ups

A tune-up isn't just a tune-up. This regular maintenance allows us to get under your hood and take a general inventory of your engine’s health. We'll be able to give you an idea of when you might need some work done, even if we don't need to immediately. This type of regular checkup is especially important in Utah, where the dry climate wreaks havoc on the belts in your engine.

What Is A Tune-Up?

The general auto repair rule is that every vehicle should get a tune-up at least once every 3 years, or every 30,000 miles. However, manufacturers sometimes have a more specific timetable which they will layout in the vehicle manual. So, what exactly gets taken care of in a tune-up? Typically, the process begins with replacing the spark plugs. It sounds simple, but changing the spark plugs on a vehicle can have a significant impact on many other systems. Then, we'll check several other vital systems of your engine. We'll let you know if and/or when other parts may need to be replaced and how much you can expect to pay.

Declining fuel efficiency, loss of power and other symptoms that are diagnosed during a tune-up are often subtle at their onset. However, as these problems worsen, they will turn a small leak in your finances into a flowing drain. Coming in for regular tune-ups won't just prevent major problems, it will help stop little leaks before they drain all the cash out of your wallet.

How Often You Should Get a Tune-Up

The suggested amount of time between tune-ups varies from vehicle to vehicle. All car manuals typically specify how often the manufacturer recommends getting a tune-up. Typically, the rate at which an owner gets their vehicle tuned up will increase over the life of the vehicle, as older cars are more liable to have problems the longer they have been driven.
