Ash Wednesday
Ash Wednesday is on February 17. We have a liturgy services and Masses planned throughout the day at each church:
The custom of drawing crosses on foreheads is a cultural tradition that is particular to certain areas of western Europe, North America, and their former colonies. The sprinkling of ashes on top of the head is both Biblical and a tradition that has been maintained in large portions of Europe and the Middle East to this day. It is the way ashes are distributed at the Vatican and by the Popes every year. For safety reasons during this pandemic, we will be sprinkling ashes on the top of the head at both St Mary and St Juan Diego Churches.
The 8:15am Mass at St Mary’s, the 9:30am Mass in Spanish at St Mary’s, and the 11:30am Mass at St Juan Diego will be live streamed. If you watch one of the live streamed Masses:
Communion and Ashes will be available at St Mary’s after the 8:15am, 9:30am, 12:00pm and 6:00pm Masses.
Communion and Ashes will be available at St Juan Diego after the 11:30am, 5:00pm and 7:00pm Masses.

Holy Water is Available!
For safety reasons, Holy Water is not available in the church vestibule. However, we have Holy Water available in the Parish Office at St. Mary’s and the Church Office at St. Juan Diego.
